Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) allocates $US 5 million to help residents of Turkestan region in Kazakhstan

Eurasian Resources Group (ERG or the Group), a leading diversified natural resources group, has contributed $US 5 million to help flood-affected residents of Maktaaral district of Turkestan region in Kazakhstan. The funds will be used to restore the region after the emergency situation.

- ERG is a socially responsible company and we always do our best to provide assistance to people under emergency situations. Kazakhstan is the home region to our business and we kept a close eye on the disaster that hit residents of the Maktaaral region. We hope for the region’s soonest possible recovery from this emergency situation and our thoughts are with the local residents,” said Dr Alexander Machkevitch, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ERG S a r l.

For many years and on a regular basis ERG has been providing support to Kazakhstan regions through memoranda of understanding with akimats, as well as through sponsorship and charity participation in various projects and initiatives. In total, between 2001 and 2019 businesses owned by ERG have put 272.5 bn tenge under various CSI initiatives in Kazakhstan.

Earlier this year, ERG was one of the first corporate citizens in the country to allocate $US 10 million to the republican fund “Biz birgemiz” as part of COVID-19 response, as well as 100 million tenge to the Kazakhstan capital for the implementation of preventive measures.
